Magnolia Flower Birthday Card

Elaine Greenwood - Canadian Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Good Morning everyone, yesterday I took time to create a flower for my card using the Magnolia Memory Dies.  These flowers are very easy to make, maybe not so good on cards (for mailing purposes) but they would be great to use as embellishments on boxes and gift bags.
Stampin' Up! - Magnolia Flower Birthday Card
Here is a link to a video from Stampin' Up! showing how you can create the flowers.  I didn't use the Hot Air Balloon Punch as I wanted my flowers to be smaller.

Here is how I created my card:

  • Thick Whisper White cardstock cut at 8 ½ x 5 ½ scored at 4 ¼.
  • Using two sizes of the Stitched Rectangles Dies diecut a frame from Blackberry Bliss cardstock.
  • Cut a piece of the Perennial Essence DSP a little larger than the inside of the frame and adhere it to the back of the frame.
  • Using the Magnolia Memory Dies, diecut the three flower dies from Whisper White cardstock, four leaves from Mossy Meadow cardstock and the small stamen from So Saffron cardstock.
  • Sponge the edges and centres of the three flower dies using a sponge dauber and Rococo Rose Ink.  Gently shape the petals of the flowers with a bone folder and then adhere them together with multi purpose liquid glue.  Attach the stamen to the centre and then add a Gold Faceted Gem.
  • Using the die from the Detailed Bands Dies cut out two, one from Rococo Rose cardstock and the other from Whisper White cardstock.  On the Whisper White centre piece, stamp the sentiment from the Floral Essence stamp set in Rococo Rose Ink.
  • Attach the band to the card using multi purpose glue and then insert the Whisper White sentiment in the centre.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and that you will make some of these flowers yourself.  I must say that I don't do very good at taking pictures; this card looks much better in person.

Floral Essence Challenge Card

Elaine Greenwood - Canadian Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Today I am sharing a card I made for our team's challenge.

Stampin' Up! Floral Essence

  • For this card I started with a card base from Blackberry Bliss cardstock cut at 8 ½ x 5 ½ scored at 4¼.
  • I cut two pieces of the Perennial Essence DSP, one was 1 x 5 ½ and the second was 2 ½ x 5 ½.  I adhered these two pieces to the card front leaving a ¾ inch space in the middle.  I diecut the long die from the flourish dies in Petal Pink cardstock and centered that in the ¾ inch space.
  • Next I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 2 ¼ x 4 ¼ and adhered that to the card base.
  • On a piece of Whisper White cardstock I stamped the floral image from the Floral Essence stamp set three times using Petal Pink, Rich Razzleberry and Blackberry Bliss Inks, the centres of the flower were stamped using So Saffron.  I fussy cut the flowers out.  I then stamped the leaves using Old Olive and Mossy Meadow Inks and punched them out using the Leaf Punch.
  • I also punched out leaves from a Copper Foil sheet using the sprig punch and die cut two sets of leaves using the die from the Detailed Bands Dies.  The flowers and leaves were then arranged on the card and adhered using multi purpose glue and dimensionals.
  • The sentiment was stamped using Blackberry Bliss Ink on Whisper White cardstock using a sentiment from the     stamp set, diecut with a Layering Circles Die which was then attached to a Scalloped Circle diecut from Blackberry Bliss cardstock.  The sentiment was attached with dimensionals.

Beautiful Friendship Cards

Elaine Greenwood - Canadian Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

First of all I would like to remind everyone that earned coupon codes in July to redeem them in August.  If you haven't done it by August 31st, you can no longer redeem them.

Today I have three cards to show you, all using the Beautiful Friendship Stamp set.  I always seem to generate to floral stamp sets and this one is a joy and fun to use.

Here is Card Number 1
Stampin' Up! Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set

For this card the cardbase is Rococo Rose cardstock cut at 8 ½ x 5 ½, scored at 4 ¼.  The next layer is Seaside Spray cardstock cut at 4 x 5 ¼.

The Whisper White cardstock is cut at 3 ¾ x 5.  The flowers were stamped using Seaside Spray, Rococo Rose, Highland Heather and Melon Mambo Ink and the leaves are stamped with Granny Apple Green Ink.

The sentiment was stamped using Rococo Rose Ink and then die cut using one of the Circles from the Stitched Shapes Dies and layered onto a Rococo Rose Scalloped Circle die cut using the Layering Circle Dies.

You can use adhesive of your choice but I used snail and multi purpose glue to attach my layers and then attached the sentiment using dimensionals.  To finish off the card I attached three gingham gala adhesive backed sequins, two in the centres of the rococo rose flowers and one on the sentiment.

Card Number 2

The second card is basically the same as the first one just using different, colours.

Cardstock used was Highland Heather, Blushing Bride and Whisper White.

Ink Colours used are Highland Heather, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Blushing Bride and Granny Apple Green.

I again used the gingham gala adhesive backed sequins but this time i placed a pearl in the centre of each one.

Card Number 3
Stampin' Up! Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set
For this card the cardbase is Merry Merlot cardstock cut at 4 ¼ x 11, scored at 5 ½.  The next layer is Seaside Spray cardstock cut at 4 x 5 ¼ and embossed using the Country Floral 3D Embossing Folder.

The next layer is Merry Merlot cardstock cut at 3 ¾ x 2 ⅝ followed by the Whisper White cardstock layer cut at 3 ⅝ x 2 ½.  The flowers were stamped using Rococo Rose, Merry Merlot, Seaside Spray, Daffodil Delight Inks and the leaves are stamped with Granny Apple Green Ink.

The sentiment is from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp set and is stamped using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and then die cut using one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

You can use adhesive of your choice but I used snail and multi purpose glue to attach my layers and then attached the flower layer with dimensionals.  To finish off the card I attached three sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment.
